YS Yangon System

Tallinn, Estonia · import and wholesale

Fruit from the growing season to the receiving dock.

Yangon System buys fresh fruit at origin in Southeast Asia, South America and Southern Africa, and delivers it to wholesalers, retail chains and repackers across the Baltics and the European Union — on agreed volumes, on agreed dates.

What we do

A trading desk, not a shop window

Buying at origin

We contract with growers and packhouses in the producing country rather than buying from a European re-seller. That removes a margin layer and, more importantly, keeps the specification — variety, calibre, pack — under our control from the start.

Carrying the risk

Cargo is bought, shipped and cleared on our own account. The buyer deals with one counterparty, one invoice and one delivery date, instead of coordinating a grower, a forwarder, a customs agent and a cold store separately.

Programmed supply

Volume runs as agreed programmes across a season rather than as one-off spot deals. That is what makes a shelf plan possible for the buyer and a planting plan possible for the grower.

Where it comes from

Three sourcing regions, chosen for counter-season cover

The regions are not interchangeable. Each one carries a different part of the year, which is how a European buyer keeps a category on the shelf twelve months out of twelve.

Southeast Asia

Bananas · pineapple · mango · young coconut · exotics

Tropical lines that crop through the year rather than in a single harvest window. Sea freight in reefer containers, with airfreight reserved for the short-shelf-life exotics where it actually pays for itself.

South America

Bananas · avocado · citrus · grapes · mango

The volume backbone. Established export corridors into Northern European ports mean predictable sailing schedules, and predictable schedules are what programmed supply is built on.

Southern Africa

Citrus · grapes · avocado · stone fruit

The southern-hemisphere season. It covers the months when European and Mediterranean supply thins out, which is what lets a buyer hold a line through the spring instead of dropping it.

How it travels

The cold chain is the product

Fruit is rarely damaged in transit so much as aged by it. Every hour outside its temperature band is shelf life taken off the far end, which is why the regime matters more than the transit time.

Cargo travels in temperature-controlled reefer containers under a regime set for the category, is discharged at Northern European ports and moves onward by refrigerated road transport into the Baltics and the wider EU. Full containers carry programmed volume; consolidated part loads serve buyers who need a mixed pallet rather than a container of one line.
